Stark Contrasts

Does anything good come without effort?  Possibly; rain and sunshine comes to mind.  But certainly a finely tuned landscape does not leap unbidden from the earth.  Herewith to prove this point are some before and after photos from a recent project.  See if you can tell which is which.

How About Some Sugar?

Sugar Maples, that is.

Sugar Maple is a popular ornamental tree because of its tolerance of shade, spreading form, and brilliant autumn foliage. Right now, our Sugar Maples are full grown trees, close to 20' tall, that have been carefully pruned and managed by our professional staff for upwards of 4 years.

And they are bursting with color:

Our installation pricing is very reasonable.  So, call us, walk our nursery, pick the Sugar Maples you like, and add these colors to your Fall landscape!

Instant Trees!

You don't have to wait years to enjoy the calm and comfort of a yard graced with stately trees.  For a very reasonable price, Ben's Creek Nursery can install 20-25' Maples, Oaks,  and Elms - often for as low as $750.00 per tree!  We also have large Leylands, Magnolias, and Nellie R. Stevens Hollies, among other great material.

And what's more, you can come to our nursery and walk through our stands of 100's, and pick out the tree you like the best!

Install - That Rhymes with Fall

As those of you who received our Labor Day flyer know, Fall is a great time to install new material.  So I was interested to read what The Grumpy Gardner (of Southern Living fame) considered to be the 10 Best Plants for Fall.

See his list here.

Ben's Creek has the expertise to install anything on his list - and more.  In some cases, like the October Glory Maple, you can come to our nursery and select the one you like from among the hundreds in our inventory!  Here is a sample of the brilliant Fall colors you can expect from these beauties:

For my money, though, I liked the idea of the Pitcher Plant.  Any plant that eats bugs is okay in my book.

Labor Day Not for Slackers

Or so said Bob Beyfuss of the Hudson-Catskill newspapers about this time last year. For him, Labor Day weekend marked the beginning of "the best time of the year to do any serious or even minor lawn care." He says:
The shorter days, cool nights and a bit more rainfall create perfect conditions for grass to grow.
Read the whole thing here.

On the other hand, you could relax this Labor Day and Fall, and let us do the work for you. Our lawn maintenance contracts are very reasonable and our professionals can help you spot those special situations/problems that can often crop up unexpectedly as the season progresses.
