The Nursery is having a nice fall this year, mainly due to the beautiful, full grown Hollies and Crape Myrtles we have available.

12-14' Biloxi Crape Myrtle |
We are quite proud of our Crape Myrtles (as evidenced by the fact that we have posted about them
here,
here, and
here). Our collection includes a full array of whimsical names - e.g. Natchez, Catawba, Sioux, Tonto, Osage, Potomac, Dynamite, and Tuskegee - with colors ranging from white to pink to lavender to vivid red.
One rarity we have are our large Acoma Crape Myrtles, which have a shrub like growth habit and bright white flowers. This slow grower can take years to reach 5', so the 6 or 7 we have in the 8' range are what is known in the trade as 'hard to find.'

Our Hollies are big and full, a testament to the years of care and pruning our crews have devoted to these plants. We have a great lineup of standards in the industry, Nellie R. Stevens, Mary Nells, Fosters, Greenleafs, and Savannahs, with good numbers in the 8-10' range and 10-12' range.

All of these evergreens are great for screenage, border plantings, or as central design specimens in a larger landscape plan ... or just simply to have in your yard. There is hardly a more pleasing sight than when those red holly berries break out against the green leaves.

We also have a relatively new cultivar of Hollies developed in the 1990's, commonly referred to as 'Red Hollies.' The 'red' sobriquet comes from the distinctive red to maroon tinge of new growth, which then fades to the normal deep green of the mature leaves as the year wears on. This line of distinctive plants was developed from the Mary Nell Holly, generally has a smaller growth profile, and has been hugely popular the last decade. We have two Red Hollies presently, Liberty Holly and Robin Holly, ranging in size from 6' to 8.'

Rounding out our Holly collection are Burford and Fine Line Hollies, ranging in size from 5' to 8.' These Hollies are usually pruned into a compact oval shape, and often are tree formed and used as specimens or distinctive focal points in landscapes.
