Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction |
Ben's Creek Nursery has been on a mission - literally! For the past three years, Ben's Creek's owner/manager, Robert Neville, and his family, Treva, Jill, Jessica, and Jack, have gone to Haiti on mission trips during the Christmas holidays.
The locus of their efforts has been an orphanage in the village of Minoterie, which was actually built on land reclaimed from a garbage dump. Among other projects, the Nevilles have worked these last three years on upgrading and refurbishing the orphanage itself, and adding a basketball court and storage building.

There were also numerous landscaping and grounds projects in and around the compound.
The numerous landscaping and grounds projects and outreach to the local community were important, of course, but by far the most fulfilling part of the mission trips was the interaction with the Haitian people in general and the orphans in particular. Herewith a roundup of the many beautiful people the Neville family has gotten to know these last few years.

All in all, this is one of the most satisfying and effective ministries around. The sponsoring organization for these trips is Real Love Ministries International, aka Real Love Haiti, www.reallovehaiti.org. If you would like to participate in a mission trip like this, you can obtain information from RLMI here. If you would like to support the orphanage with an online donation you can do so here; be sure and select 'Real Love Orphanage' as the designee. Online donations are handled by Crosslink Church, and you can rest assured that 100% of your donation will be distributed to RLMI.
